The Breton artist of international fame, Alan Stivell, reacted with anger and deep indignation to the recent positioning of French Academy and Senate against constitutional changes that would recognize regional languages. Alan did not hesitate to see "savages" behind Academicians cute glittering uniforms and cocked hats.

Alan Stivell declared to ABP that "the text signed unanimously by the Academicians, including Érik Orsenna, has particularly shoked him. It shows that those Academicians (if we refer to the definition of civilization) do not belong to civilized humanity, the one whose first feature is to replace animal instinct with reason.

They do behave like animals destroying all around them by instintive fear to be destroyed themselves.

We can call ourselves civilized, the day we stop to participate to the destruction of irreplaceable and priceless treasures from humanity (believing in increasing the status of its own culture in doing so ?). But what do these academicains think of Buddha statues' destructions by Talibans ? — not acceptable but rather less on the scale of seriousness ?"

Reacting as well to the vote of Senate, Alan Stivell sees " A triple crime" which are :

— "A crime against international laws protecting defenceless minorities against majorities" . Alan stivell qualifies here the majority as "communautarist", returning the term coined by French supremacists to describe members of communauties in France defending their religious, cultural or linguistic rights.

— Second : "A crime against French laws, that forbid all forms of racism or discriminations".

— Third : "A crime against civilization since pertinent only to animal instinct."
