Just six days after the Council of Europe prisons inspection body the CPT responded to our concerns over deaths at Maghaberry Prison another death has occurred (link):

Following two deaths in early November we urged in correspondence on 17th November that the Prison be considered for an urgent inspection and CPT responded on the 22nd saying that they had taken note of the request.

Following the latest death which is the third prison death in less than a month we have again communicated to the CPT stressing the need for urgent action.
