NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE The Manx Branch of the Celtic League is to ask the General Secretary of the League to press the Irish, Manx, United Kingdom and French governments to ensure that they involve accredited Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in consultation prior to submitting reports to United Nations bodies. The Celtic League is an accredited NGO with roster status to ECOSOC (The United Nations Economic and Social Council). The UN stresses the need for full involvement of NGOs in the reporting stage process but as far as the Manx Branch can ascertain the Manx (and some of the other governments) do not actively encourage NGO participation. J B Moffatt (Mr) Director of Information 25/11/14 (Please note that replies to correspondence received by the League and posted on CL News are usually scanned hard copies. Obviously every effort is made to ensure the scanning process is accurate but sometimes errors do occur.) ISSUED BY THE CELTIC LEAGUE INFORMATION SERVICE. The Celtic League has branches in the six Celtic Countries. It works to promote cooperation between these countries and campaigns on a broad range of political, cultural and environmental matters.
